Northwood - Match Preview

Last updated : 12 August 2006 By Gary Calder

Watford return to competitive action for the first time tonight since that momentous day back in May when the Golden Boys swept all before them by defeating Leeds United in the Coca-Cola Championship play-off final to claim the last place for this season's Barclays Premiership.

Watford is expected to travel to Chestnut Avenue with a full squad although manager, Aidy Boothroyd will no doubt utilise some of his fringe players ahead of tomorrow's friendly against Coca-Cola League Two side, Wycombe Wanderers.

One player expected to figure is American Jay DeMerit who was spotted by then Watford manager, Ray Lewington playing for the Woods in a pre-season friendly between the two sides a couple of summers ago and impressed so much that he made the move soon after to Vicarage Road.

Northwood Football Club has confirmed that tickets have sold well for the game, however, there are some still available, and these can be purchased from the Northwood FC clubhouse during the day and prior to the kick-off.

Please note that tickets must be purchased before entering the ground - there are no cash sales at the turnstiles.
