Boothroyd Linked To Under 21 Post

Watford manager, Aidy Boothroyd has emerged as a possible contender for the vacant England Under 21 position.

The role, vacated by Crystal Palace boss, Peter Taylor on Thursday would present a wonderful opportunity for a number of up and coming managers including the Bradford born Boothroyd, ahead of June's European Under-21 Championship in Holland.

However, the likeable 35-year-old Yorkshireman feels he is not quite ready to take on such a role just at the moment.

“While it is extremely flattering, it is ridiculous really," he said. "I have only been doing this job two years and I am very much a YTS in terms of management."

Boothroyd has won 33 of his 87 games in charge of the Golden Boys since arriving at Vicarage Road in March 2005.
