The Football League has confirmed that the draw for the Second Round of this season's Carling Cup will be made Live on Sky Sports' Soccer Saturday programme at 1.30pm this coming Saturday, 26th August 2006.
As a result of their promotion into the top flight Watford have been exempt from the First Round, which has seen plenty of giant-killing take place this week, but together with the remaining eleven Premiership clubs not participating in Europe this season (Aston Villa, Bolton Wanderers, Charlton Athletic, Everton, Fulham, Manchester City, Middlesbrough, Portsmouth, Reading, Sheffield United and last season's beaten finalists, Wigan Athletic) the Golden Boys will enter the competition at the Second Round stage.
