Chamberlain Set To Continue

Watford has confirmed that 42-year-old goalkeeper Alec Chamberlain has agreed to a new twelve month contract to keep him at the club.

As well as providing back-up for the first team on match days Chamberlain has, since the arrival of manager Aidy Boothroyd, become an important part of the coaching set up at Watford a fact not lost on the charismatic manager who commented,

“Alec is an integral part of the coaching staff here and he is absolutely vital to the future development of our goalkeepers."

The Golden Boys' longest serving professional joined the Vicarage Road outfit from Sunderland in 1996 and has now made over 275 appearances for the Hertfordshire side.
