1. Arsenal - Gabriel Martinelli (6/10) vs Brighton
What we said: "Had the ball in the net from a corner - where he proved a menace all afternoon - but it was ruled out by VAR."
2. Aston Villa - Douglas Luiz (6/10) vs Tottenham
What we said: "His physical presence gave Villa the momentum in the first half, mopping up well and making plenty of tackles. Presence was nowhere near as domineering in the second period."
3. Brentford - Bryan Mbeumo (8/10) vs West Ham
What we said: "Almost every clip of this game on Match of the Day 2 tonight will involve Mbeumo, who was wasteful but busy and ultimately helped turn the tide in the Bees' favour."
4. Brighton - Enock Mwepu (10/10) vs Arsenal

5. Burnley - Nick Pope (6/10) vs Norwich

6. Chelsea - Mason Mount (10/10) vs Southampton
What we said: "Spotted Alonso's run and intelligently teed him up for the opener. Sent a low shot into the far corner with awesome precision from outside the box to make it 2-0. Grabbed his second by bundling in. Ran the show."
7. Crystal Palace - Jeffrey Schlupp (7/10) vs Leicester
What we said: "Relished a return to the club where he won the Premier League, carving out several good opportunities. Palace's best player by a margin."
8. Everton - Fabian Delph (9/10) vs Manchester United
What we said: "Unbelievable that this was his first Premier League game in 2022. Looked like he had never been away, playing with real force and ensuring Everton were the dominant team at both ends."
9. Leeds - Raphinha (7/10) vs Watford
What we said: "Celebrated his opener with a shimmy of the hips, a similar movement that deceived Foster so effectively."
10. Leicester - Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (9/10) vs Crystal Palace
What we said: "His incredible improvement this season continued. He was a bundle of positive energy all afternoon and set up Lookman's goal before scoring a spectacular one himself."
11. Liverpool - Sadio Mane (7/10) vs Manchester City
What we said: "Perfect first-time finish into the top corner from his only shot to that point. Had far more influence with some important hold-up. Subbed."
12. Manchester City - Kevin De Bruyne (8/10) vs Liverpool
What we said: "Made it six goals in six appearances with his early deflected effort. Attacking influence waned but he battled hard. Deserved an assist at the death."
13. Manchester United - Victor Lindelof (5/10) vs Everton
What we said: "Reacted quicker to danger than his centre-back partner, but the bar to clear was seriously low."
14. Newcastle - Bruno Guimaraes (9/10) vs Wolves
What we said: "His accuracy was better than Shelvey's and he was crucial in everything positive Newcastle did."

What we said: "His movement was brilliant, as was his hold up play, and his finishing. Great performance."
16. Southampton - Fraser Forster (5/10) vs Chelsea
What we said: "Point-blank save from Werner kept the score at 2-0, with Forster powerless to prevent the opening goals. Made a couple of outstanding saves just before half-time. Southampton's best performer, somehow, despite the scoreline."
17. Tottenham - Son Heung-min (10/10) vs Aston Villa
What we said: "Awesome finish early on to give his side the early initiative. Kept his cool to rattle in Spurs' third on the break before completing his hat trick by whipping in Kulusevski's pass. Three shots, three goals, and the match winner for his side."
