The Site

The new Barclays Premiership season kicks-off this coming Saturday with Watford taking their place amongst the elite of English football for the first time in six years when they travel to David Moyes' Everton.

Is it really almost 13 weeks since the Golden Boys famously clinched their place in the top flight thanks to a stunning three goal Coca-Cola Championship Play-off Final victory over Leeds United at the Millennium Stadium, thanks to goals by Jay DeMerit, James Chambers and a Darius Henderson penalty!

To mark Watford's elevation, and as some of our regular readers have no doubt already noticed, we have been busy revamping The Golden Boys site over the summer, and the commencement of a new campaign heralds plenty of new features as well as a return of some old favourites.

New items added during the close season include detailed away day travel information to every Premiership ground, updated Player Profiles, and a section where you will be able to monitor each Premiership team's Average Attendance. There is also information regarding the Management Team at Watford, including the Board of Directors and an interesting look at the history of the stadium at Vicarage Road.

Meanwhile, all the regular articles will also return as the season gets underway, including Match Previews, Man in the Middle and Head To Head, while after the action has taken place, you will be able to reflect with Match Reports, Aidy's View, Photo Gallery and What the Papers Say.

The review of the weekend games will also be back, although of course this year we are delighted to be taking in the Premiership, rather than the Championship!

Finally, there is the games section, where amongst other goodies you can enter our ‘Beat The Manager' competition, a light hearted FREE game where you can pit your wits against other fans by trying to predict the scores in games involving Watford.

So as you can see there will be plenty of material to keep the discerning website viewer occupied throughout the next nine months, so make sure you and all of your friends make the Golden Boys a first port of call for all things Watford during what we all hope will be a momentous season for Aidy Boothroyd and the team.

As the great man himself says,

Come On!
