Former Golden Boys, Paul Devlin and Scott Fitzgerald have both left Coca Cola League One strugglers, Walsall.

In a statement issued on the club's official website, Saddlers manager, Kevan Broadhurst is quoted as saying,

"It is disappointing that Paul has made this decision - he was unhappy at being on the bench on Tuesday,"

"I can understand his frustration, but felt that he still had a role to play in our season."

Devlin, who will be 34 tomorrow, only left Vicarage Road in January after being told by Watford manager, Aidy Boothroyd that he did not figure in his first team plans.

Meanwhile, former Northwood front man Fitzgerald has also departed the Bescott Stadium and returned to Brentford after making just one start and four substitute appearances for the relegation threatened Saddlers, without scoring.
