Watford predicted lineup vs Wolves - Premier League

Watford welcome Wolves to Vicarage Road in the Premier League this weekend as the Hornets aim to return to winning ways after back-to-back league defeats.

Xisco Munoz's side made a roaring start to life back in the top flight with a 3-2 victory over Aston Villa on the opening day.

However, consecutive defeats away to Brighton and Tottenham have put the brakes on Watford's momentum and they will be keen to make Vicarage Road a fortress this season as they target survival in the Premier League.

Here's how the Spaniard could line his side up.

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Daniel Bachmann (GK) - Part of an Austria side which tasted successive defeats in World Cup qualifying, the Watford stopper will welcome the return to club football.

Craig Cathcart (RB) - The 32-year-old faces a thankless task attempting to stifle Adama Traore’s attacking threat.

William Troost-Ekong (CB) - A mainstay in the Watford backline since arriving last summer, the former Udinese man is the leader at the heart of the defence.

Christian Kabasele (CB) - Vulnerable in his last outing in Watford’s 2-0 defeat to Brighton, the Belgian will need an improved showing against the fluid attacking cast of Wolves.

Adam Masina (LB) - Struggled defensively against Tottenham but his deliveries from the left will be crucial.

2. Midfielders

Peter Etebo (DM) - Among the select few Waford players to get pass marks against Tottenham, the Nigerian is a composed presence at the base of midfield.

Tom Cleverley (CM) - The 32-year-old’s industry will be required against the guile of Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho in midfield.

Juraj Kucka (CM) - A summer recruit from Parma, the Slovakia international will be eager to impress after a quiet display against Tottenham last time out.

3. Forwards

Ismaila Sarr (RW) - Watford’s chief attacking threat, the 23-year-old will look to trouble the Wolves defence at every opportunity.

Emmanuel Dennis (ST) - Played off the left in Watford’s previous outing at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and should return to a central striking role after Josh King failed to impress.

Ken Sema (LW) - The Swede’s directness will be vital as Watford aim to take the initiative infront of their home crowd.
