Watford to Hold 'Auction' for Luis Suarez (No Not That One)

Watford are set to hold a 'transfer auction' to sell off striker Luis Suarez, despite the Colombian having never played for the Hornets.

Suarez joined Watford back in 2017, but has spent the entirety of his Hornets' career out on loan at a number of clubs, accumulating over 100 appearances through loan spells at three different clubs.

The Colombian has spent this past season in the Segunda Division at Real Zaragoza, and it's there that Suarez has made a name for himself.

The 22-year old striker has impressed throughout the season with 17 goals in 29 league appearances, catching the attention of numerous clubs throughout Europe, with a number of top La Liga sides interested in Suarez.

Ligue 1 side Lyon are also reportedly interested in the centre-forward, likely in an effort to replace Moussa Demeble if the Frenchman departs this summer.

With Moussa Dembele edging towards the exit, Lyon are interested in bringing Suarez to France

The attention being paid has convinced Watford to cash in on the striker, and The Sun report that the club are set to auction him off, aiming to sell him on to the highest bidder. If a move were to materialise, Suarez would leave the club having never actually kicked a ball for the Premier League side.

Suarez joined Watford back in 2017 from Colombian side Leones F.C., but was immediately loaned to Real Valladolid B in the third tier, and the 22-year old has remained in Spain ever since, with the spell at Valladolid B followed by a season at Gimnàstic before he arrived at Zaragoza last summer.

Suarez has been in fine form for Zaragoza this season

Zaragoza currently find themselves second in the Segunda Division and will want to keep hold of Suarez if they gain promotion to La Liga, but may struggle to convince the striker to return to La Romareda while he's being chased by a number of the division's top sides.
