Watford's Ashley Young has been rewarded for his excellent start to the new Premiership campaign by being selected in Peter Taylor's 24 man squad to play Switzerland in a European Championship qualifier on Wednesday 6th September.

Young, 21, had a wonderfully consistent season last term, netting 15 goals and creating many others as Watford achieved promotion to the top flight, and he has maintained that form in the opening two matches of the current campaign.

The Stevenage born front man is expected to be competing for a place alongside, Arsenal's Theo Walcott and Preston North End's Dave Nugent in the match that takes place in Luzern.
