Young's International Delight

Ashley Young made his International debut last night, as a 79th minute replacement for Fulham's on-loan Tottenham Hotspur player, Wayne Routledge to help England to an exciting odd goal in five triumph over their Switzerland counterparts in Lucerne.

The visitors had raced in to a two goal lead inside the game's opening 18 minutes, thanks to strikes by Arsenal's Theo Walcott and Dave Nugent of Preston North End, but the hosts battled back bravely and deservedly drew level when Tranquillo Barnetta added to Johan Volanthen's first half penalty with 20 minutes remaining.

However, following Young's late arrival, a goal two minutes from time by fellow substitute, James Milner booked Peter Taylor's men their place in next month's play-offs, which will determine whether they will compete in the European U21 Championship finals next summer.
