Zola nervous at Jol departure

With 1 win in 8 and 4 consecutive home defeats, Watford owners, the Pozzo family, are likely to be considering their options and the availability of Jol may be cause for conversation in the Vicarage Road board room.

Zola narrowly missed out on getting his Watford side promoted to the Premier League in May following a narrow Play-Off defeat to Crystal Palace and had previously been touted as a potential target for Real Madrid. However, with things turning sour at the Hertfordshire club amid rumours of player unrest, a move for the experienced Dutch manager may be on the cards.

Despite a close relationship with the Watford owners, Zola refused to state that his position following Saturdays defeat was ?absolutely secure?.

Jol, for whom a position with the Hornets would mean very little domestic upheaval, may be persuaded to drop down a league and join his third London Club who, despite current results, appear to be a club on the up. A long awaited stand is currently under construction and the squad is certain to see yet more additions from the Pozzo pool of overseas players.

The more sober amongst the Watford faithful are keen for Zola to be given more time but loyalty and patience, even for one of the nicest guys in football, still have their limits.
