Colin Webster Refs Ipswich Town Game

Last updated : 16 May 2006 By Gary Calder

The Tyne and Wear official will be refereeing his second game of the season at Vicarage Road, and the hosts will no doubt be hoping for a repeat of the 39-year-old's previous visit on October 29, 2005 when they swept to a 3-1 Coca-Cola Championship triumph over Wolverhampton Wanderers, courtesy of second half strikes by Jay Demerit, Marlon King and the now departed Paul Devlin.

Webster is a vastly experienced official having started refereeing as long ago as 1988. Progression came via the Wearside and Northern Leagues, earning the North East whistle blower promotion to the national list of assistant referee's in 1994, followed by the referee's list in 2000.

Colin Webster will be joined by Mr. J.M Hayto and Mr. G.D Horwood as his assistants at Vicarage Road on Monday afternoon.
