Speaking soon after Jay DeMerit's 70th minute header has sealed Watford's second Premiership win of the campaign the Vicarage Road boss revealed.

"We don't win many games so I have got to be as creative as I can.

The cinema opened up for the lads to watch Rocky Balboa and I worked with the reserves.

They had heard enough of me so it was time for them to hear someone else. Maybe they should go to the pictures more often".

Boothroyd then went onto thank the fans for turning out on a freezing night in South Hertfordshire.

"The fans were magnificent tonight, I am delighted for them first and foremost.

We haven't had too much to cheer about this year. I'm not going to get carried away but I am going to enjoy tonight.

Any win's a big win for us and I'm absolutely thrilled that we've got three points because I forgot what it was like."

Looking ahead the Bradford born manager remained upbeat.

"There are fifteen games left and we've got to win a good percentage of those. Tonight, I hope and I believe it is a start, there were a lot of positives to come out of that.

It's a great atmosphere in the dressing room. We made hard work of it for sure but I still think we're in there”.
