Watford's reserves overcame the stiff challenge of Southern League Premier Division Cheshunt last night to claim their place in the Second Round of this season's Hertfordshire Senior Cup.

Fielding a reasonably strong line-up the Golden Boys fell behind as early as the third minute as the hosts took advantage of indecision within the visitors' rearguard.

However, the setback merely galvanised Watford into action and Anthony McNamee restored equality in the tenth minute, firing home an exquisite shot high into the roof of the net following a decisive run down the left flank.

Five minutes later and the tie was won, Albert Jarrett netting what proved to be the winner with a neat close range header.

Watford will meet Nationwide Conference National outfit, Stevenage Borough in the last 16, with the tie likely to be played week commencing December 4 2006.

Watford: James Beasant, Marvin McCoy, Jordan Parkes, Alex Campana, Adrian Mariappa, Junior Osborne, Anthony McNamee, Toumani Diagouraga, Liam Henderson (Kieran Forbes 75), Ewan Clarke, Albert Jarrett.
