Defender On Trial

The 34-year-old Ecuador international full-back, who was released by Reading earlier this summer, played in the Hornets pre-season friendly draw against Brentford at the weekend.

"We had Ulises De la Cruz playing with us today on trial," Hornets boss Aidy Boothroyd said after the 1-1 draw at Griffin Park.

"He's here for a couple of weeks and he's done well so far.

"He's got a good pedigree with around 90 international caps for Ecuador."
