Watford striker, Marlon King has been arrested after a night club brawl, reports the Daily Mail.

The newspaper revealed the incident took place at the Penthouse club in London's Leicester Square on New Year's Day, with the 26-year-old arrested following a bust-up in the nightclub in the early hours of January 1.

The Dulwich born player, who has previously served time in prison for driving a stolen BMW, was taken to Charing Cross police station in London before being questioned on suspicion of assault and occasioning actual bodily harm.

No details have been released of the alleged victim, and King has been bailed to return to a police station in February.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: "A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of assault and ABH. He has been bailed to return to a London police station in February."

It is believed that King, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, also kept the incident from Watford manager, Aidy Boothroyd until the weekend.

A Watford FC spokesperson confirmed: "The club has been made aware of an alleged incident but we have been advised by the police not to make any further comment at this stage."
