Watford has confirmed that Spanish defender, Sietes has been released from his contract by mutual consent.

The 32-year-old figured during pre-season, but ultimately failed to settle in England following his arrival from Real Murcia last summer, and never made a competitive appearance for the Golden Boys.

Speaking to the official site, a philosophical Aidy Boothroyd said,

“Sometimes in football things don’t work out”

Sietes was a player who came to us with an excellent pedigree in Spanish football but he found it very, very difficult to settle into a new culture and the British style of play.

“We wish him well for the future.”
