Golden Boys captain, Gavin Mahon has advised his colleagues to remain patient ahead of the clash with Derby County on Saturday.

Mahon, 29, is well aware of the growing reputation his side has gained in recent weeks, and making reference to last week’s late show against Cardiff City in which Marlon King grabbed an 88th minute winner the midfielder added,

“We know we will come up against teams who are determined to frustrate us. But we’ve shown we’ve learned a lot about how to win those kind of games. We might need some more of that against Derby, but we're still confident we can claim the three points."

Watford go into the clash on the back of eight victories in their last nine Championship matches, and will be looking to complete a fourth league double of the campaign following a 2-1 success at Pride Park last August Bank Holiday Monday.

On that particular afternoon the hosts had edged ahead early on thanks to an Adam Bolder strike, but in the second half the Golden Boys stormed back to take all three points. Matthew Spring levelled matters midway through the half before Clarke Carlisle rose majestically to head home a Watford winner in the dying seconds.
