Watford act upon Police safety advice

Luton Town are planning a beam back of the upcoming local derby fixture, after reportedly being disappointed that Watford have only allocated 2,316 match tickets for their supporters ahead of the Championship fixture at Vicarage Road on Sunday 9th April 2006.

The mid table Hatters believe they could have sold more tickets for the Vicarage Road End, as Luton Town Club secretary Cherry Newbery confirmed:

"Whilst we are extremely disappointed that the allocation is so low, we have to accept that this decision has been made by Watford Football Club and Hertfordshire Police in the interests of safety of everyone attending the match.

"Watford know their ground and the problems segregation brings with turnstiles for both home and away supporters so close together."

It is worth remembering that just 1, 800 match tickets were made available to Golden Boys’ fans for the January 2nd clash, which ended in a 2-1 victory for Aidy Boothroyd’s men following first half strikes by Darius Henderson and Malky Mackay.
