Watford predicted lineup vs Chelsea - Premier League

Watford travel to the west of the capital to face Chelsea in their last match of an unsuccessful Premier League season on Sunday.

The Hornets confirmed their status as the joint-worst home team in the history of England's top-flight with their 15th league defeat at Vicarage Road last weekend. Watford haven't exactly been imperious on their travels either, losing 11 away games this season.

Manager Roy Hodgson will walk away from Watford after this game and will return to retirement, meaning this looks like the last match of his famous career.

Here's the XI Hodgson may deploy to try and secure a happy ending.

Ben Foster (GK) - No Premier League goalkeeper this season has recorded a worse save percentage than the 39-year-old, preventing just 59% of the shots that fly his way (per FBref).

Jeremy Ngakia (RB) - Two years after leaving West Ham for more game-time, Ngakia could rack up a tenth league start of the season before returning to the Championship while his former side look forward to more European football.

Christian Kabasele (CB) - Across his six years at Watford, Kabasele has lost all four of his career meetings with Chelsea, conceding at least two goals on each occasion.

Craig Cathcart (CB) - The squad's longest-serving player is set to earn a third Premier League relegation of his career.

Adam Masina (LB) - After starting the first three games of the season, Masina could begin the final trio of Premier League matches with sporadic involvement in between.

Moussa Sissoko (CM) - Since his arrival at the end of the summer window, Sissoko is the only player to have been subjected to each and every Watford match from the start. He hasn't even been subbed off since August.

Edo Kayembe (CM) - The 23-year-old midfielder has hit double digits for appearances since arriving in January but is yet to appear in a single Premier League win.

Dan Gosling (CM) - The goal-shy midfielder has scored more often against Chelsea than any other club in his career, finding the net twice in 12 appearances.

Samuel Kalu (RW) - This season Kalu has appeared for Bordeaux and, of course, Watford. Both clubs have already had their relegation from the French and English top flights confirmed this term.

Joao Pedro (ST) - After opening the scoring against Leicester last weekend, the 20-year-old Brazilian has the chance to find the net in consecutive appearances for the second time this season following back-to-back goals in January - one of which also came against the Foxes.

Ken Sema (LW) - Four short years ago, Sema was a goalscorer in the knockout stages of the Europa League. Now he is facing a second season of Championship football in three years.
