Watford V Barnsley at Vicarage Road Stadium - Match Preview

Hornets without six for Tykes clash

Watford boss Gianfranco Zola boasts no new injury or suspension problems for the visit of Barnsley.

Zola watched the Hornets triumph 4-1 at Sheffield Wednesday in midweek to extend their unbeaten run to six games and move up to the eighth place in the Championship table, although he could still opt to tinker with his line-up.

Strikers Troy Deeney and Matej Vydra are two of the leading contenders for recalls having been dropped to the bench at Hillsborough.

Watford do however remain without as many as six players for the clash.

Midfielders Ikechi Anya (hamstring), Almen Abdi (shoulder) and John Eustace (back) as well as defenders Lloyd Doyley (calf) and Nyron Nosworthy (hamstring) and back-up goalkeeper Jonathan Bond (groin) remain sidelined.

Barnsley manager Keith Hill could name an unchanged starting line-up as his side chase a first league win in nine matches.

Hill has no new injury or suspension problems following the draw with Burnley in midweek when Akos Buzsaky made his debut in midfield alongside fellow loanee Jonathan Greening.

A third recent loan signing, Peterborough striker Emile Sinclair, is pushing for his first start for the Tykes after stepping off the substitutes' bench in the last two matches.

Leading goalscorer Craig Davies is expected to resume up front alongside Marcus Tudgay, who scored his first goal for the club since arriving on loan from Nottingham Forest against Burnley on Tuesday night.

Mido remains sidelined with the back problem that has forced him to miss the last three games and midfielder David Perkins is still struggling with a hamstring injury.
