Chris Foy Refs Reading Game

Subject to any late changes, Chris Foy will take charge of Saturday's Barclays Premiership fixture at Vicarage Road.

The unassuming 43-year-old has taken charge of ten Premiership games so far this season without sending a player off, and although he has brandished 24 yellow cards it was his inconsistent performance whilst refereeing Watford's recent away fixture at Portsmouth that really brought him to national attention.

A hotly disputed late penalty that went against the Golden Boys was the culmination of an erratic display by the merry whistle blower and his assistants, prompting a heated Aidy Boothroyd to comment afterwards,

“You expect officials to have good games and they didn't. I'm not advocating prison sentences, but let's get medieval and put them in the stocks for an hour or two and throw rotten tomatoes at them.”

The Merseyside born official is well known on the Premiership circuit having being elected to the Select Group of referee's in 2001.

Foy began refereeing in 1983 and progressed to the national list of referees in 1996 before further progression saw him promoted to the Premier League list.

Amongst a number of high profile top flight matches, Foy worked as Fourth Official for the England v Italy friendly at Elland Road in 2002 and the FA Trophy Final in 2001.

Mr. Foy will be joined by Mr. S. Artis and Mr. D.Babski as his assistants at Vicarage Road later this afternoon.
