Premiership Referee To Officiate Play-off Final

Subject to any late changes, Premiership official, Mike Dean will take charge of the potentially explosive Coca-Cola Championship Play-off Final between Watford and Leeds United this coming Sunday.

The well respected Dean refereed Watford's local derby at home to Luton Town last month, booking Lloyd Doyley for unsporting behaviour and Marlon King for dissent.

The 37-year-old has also officiated two games involving opponents, Leeds United this season, their victories at Burnley in October and at home to Leicester City at the beginning of December, both matches passing without any great incident.

The Wirral born Dean has been a member of the Premiership panel since 2000, enjoying a meteoric rise up the ranks after joining the Football League as assistant in 1997.

Also on the Fifa referee's list, Dean has refereed many important matches in his career including the 2004 FA Community Shield, and last month's Premiership clash between Chelsea and Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

Mr. Dean will be joined by Mr. G.L Ward and Mr. M.S Yerby as his assistants at the Millennium Stadium.
