Steve Bennett Refs Fulham Game

Experienced Premiership referee Mr. Bennett will be taking charge of Watford for the first time this season, in this his 16th Premiership top flight engagement of the 2006/07 campaign.

Mr. Bennett has booked 51 players thus far, sending off three, Manchester City's Bernardo Corradi at Chelsea on the opening weekend of the season and Titus Bramble of Newcastle United and Everton's Tony Hibbert during the team's 1-1 draw at St James Park in September.

On the one previous occasion that the Orpington based official presided over Fulham during the current campaign he booked the now injured Zat Knight, Antti Niemi, Franck Queudrue as the Cottagers fought out a 1-1draw with Portsmouth in November.

The vastly experienced official qualified in 1984 progressing via the Winstonlead Kent League, Isthmian League and GM Vauxhall Conference before becoming a Football League Linesman in 1992, a Premier League Linesman a year later and a FIFA Linesman in 1995.

Mr. Bennett was promoted to the Football League Referees list in 1995, the FA Premier League Referees List in 1999 and has, since January 2001, been a FIFA Referee.

Apart from a number of high profile top flight matches Mr. Bennett also has UEFA Champions League matches involving PSV Eindhoven v FS Monaco and Real Madrid v FC Porto on his CV.

The well respected Mr. Bennett will be joined by assistants, Mr. A. Garratt and Mr. M. Scholes at Craven Cottage on Monday afternoon.
