Manager Aidy Boothroyd reflecting on another three points following a 3-1 victory over Southampton was quick to praise the 1, 500 fans who made the Monday night trek down to the South Coast, even though the match was televised live by Sky Sports.

Speaking to the official site, Watfordfc.com Boothroyd went onto explain,

“I'm delighted for the fans that we won – they deserved that for their support tonight".

The manager was also honest enough to acknowledge that, although his side had won, their usual fluency was missing,

“It shows the character of this team that we can win 3-1 away from home without playing that well tonight

“The great thing about our side is the ability to score goals at key times even when we're not playing particularly well or not on top at the time"

Boothroyd concluded,

"We're delighted with the win tonight but we know there's more to come from us and that's really exciting”.
