Bristol City 0 Watford 2 … Golden Boys back on track
Following Saturday's draw Watford travelled to Bristol City where they won their first match since the opening game of the season thanks to goals from Marvin Sordell and Danny Graham.
After Sordell's brace as a Super Sub on Saturday he was given his place back in the starting line-up. Sordell was very lively and forced an early save in the third minunte from ex-Hornet David James, the save forced a corner. From the corner Sordell found the back of the net when he smashed in a knock down from Adrian Mariappa.
After the goal Watford continued to dominate, Danny Graham had a good opportunity but couldn't find the target, In the 21st minute David James denied Sordell getting a second.
Early in the second half Danny Graham finally doubled Watford's lead when John Eustace played a long ball from his own half which found Graham, he then took an early shot and with the assistance of a deflection the ball found it's way to the back of the net.
Bristol City struggled all night and had it not been for David James' numerous saves the scoreline would've been a lot worse for City. At the other end, City only managed one effort on target when ex-Hornet loanee Danny Rose had a low drive which was well saved by Scott Loach.
The three points mean Watford find themselves in 12th place and just two points off third. If Malky's boys can get a decent run together it could be a positive season.
