McDonalds

There are two McDonalds "restaurants" in the town.

If you head out of the Vicarage Road stadium and turn right walk down the road, cross to a pedestrianised bit and then cross at the pedestrian crossing. Then go through the underpass at the end of Vicarage Road, turn right after this and left at the end of that road walk down that street until you find McDonalds on your left.

Harlequin Shopping Centre

The Harlequin Shopping Centre
The Harlequin centre is located opposite the above McDonalds, and is open until 6pm on Saturdays.

The centre has a food court (and several sport stores should you wish to buy your team's new strip) with fast food outlets such as KFC, Burger King, and Little Chef Express.

Next door to the food court is a pasta restaurant which is worth a look, and there is also a "BBs Coffee and Muffins".

Dominic's Snack Bar

Located in the town centre on Merton Road, this offers decent food at moderate prices.

Sarnies of Watford

Located on Clarendon Road, this establishment bakes it's own bread for sandwiches.

The Football Cafe
Football Cafe

The usual fry-up fare located on Vicarage Road, reasonably priced and therefore always busy on match days.

Fry-days Fish and Chips

Another popular eatery located on Vicarage Road, again always very busy on match days but offering value for money.

Drink

The Rose and Crown

Located in the High Street, and gets crowded quite early, and mainly with home fans!

The Red Lion

Located right outside the North Stand entrance, on Vicarage Road. Unfortunately, this one is home fans only.

Mac's Bar

Mac's bar is down Vicarage Road, heading back into town, and turn right. It's quite small but the welcome is usually okay. Prices are average for Watford.

The Hogs Head

You're more likely to find more variety in one of the bars in the town centre. There are several, mostly "theme" pubs now, but maybe the best of the lot would be The Hogs Head, in the High Street under the flyover before the pond.

If you are arriving by train at Watford Junction... then try...

Flag and Firkin

This is a large pub, and also serves good food. If the weather is good, there is also a nice beer garden.

Moon Under The Water

This pub is located in the High Street, and gets very crowded, very early.

And finally...

If you're thinking of making a evening of it in Watford, most bars/pubs have bouncers and most of them do not allow trainers and in some cases "very casual dress".
