Footymad preview
Watford prepare to entertain Cardiff City at Vicarage Road on Saturday afternoon, looking to continue an impressive record against the Bluebirds. The Hornets are clearly on top, having won 11 and lost only 3 of the 19 games played.

The most recent encounter between these two sides at Vicarage Road was in December 2004, when the Golden Boys played out a goalless draw in a Championship match.

On the playing side, Hornets' manager, Aidy Boothroyd must do without combative striker Darius Henderson and tenacious midfielder, Al Bangura who both miss the clash through suspension.

However, the ambitious Boothroyd will be buoyed by the defensive display at Brighton & Hove Albion a week ago and will be looking for the Golden Boys to complete their third double of the season.

Recent respective form guides

Watford are showing good home form, having won four of their last six Championship matches. These high-scoring games have yielded a total of 14 goals for the Golden Boys, with just 4 conceded.

The away form of Cardiff City is pretty dire, accumulating just 1 victory and 1 draw from their last six played. While the Bluebirds have hit 7 goals, 13 have hit the back of the wrong net.

Watford remain just outside the promotion places, having accrued 64 points from 35 games, while seventh placed Cardiff City occupy the first berth outside the play-off positions having picked up 52 from their 35 games so far.
