Boothroyd Boost

Watford Football Club has this morning confirmed that manager, Aidy Boothroyd and his players, Darius Henderson in particular, have no individual charges to answer for their part in Tuesday evening's unsavoury sideline melee.

The incident, which involved around 40 players and officials becoming embroiled in heated exchanges following Boothroyd's attempts to get on with play has however, seen Watford charged with misconduct.

The FA's communication to the club reads,

β€œIt is alleged that in or around the 63rd minute of the match, Watford FC failed to ensure that its players and/or officials and/or employees conducted themselves in an orderly fashion, and refrained from provocative behaviour.”

Watford has 14 days in which to accept or launch an appeal against the charges, but at least the FA's decision means the engaging Boothroyd will be able to lead his team from pitchside in Cardiff, and 14 goal front man, Henderson can play in the play-off final if selected.
