Boothroyd's Deadline Day Swoop

Watford Football Club have now confirmed that Gareth Williams has signed from Coca-Cola Championship outfit, Leicester City for an undisclosed fee.

The Glasgow born 25-year-old joins on a two and a half year deal after finalising terms this morning, and his arrival will add competition in the middle of the park as the Golden Boys strive to avoid relegation.

Williams, who in the past has skippered the Scotland under-21 side, began his career at Nottingham Forest, winning their player of the year award in 2001/02 during a first full season in professional football.

Noted for his passing ability, Williams moved to Leicester City in the summer of 2004, and made a last appearance for the Foxes in their odd goal in five defeat against Cardiff City at the weekend.
