"We were like two Olympic boxers out there, flaying arms and everything, but not terribly good when it came to defending," the Hornets boss said after the first League defeat of the season at the City Ground.

"I would like to think we are a bit more professional defensively than that, but perhaps it is a wake-up call for us.

"We got one early on against Leicester last season and hopefully this will set us up for our next few games.

"I thought we invited Forest on to us, but they kept the ball better than we did and scored some very good goals."
