DeMerit Pens New Deal

The American defender, who signed a one year deal at Vicarage Road in the summer, has put pen to paper on a new deal that will keep him with the club until 2007.

"He's forced forced us to give him another contract because he's done so well," Hornets boss Ray Lewington said.

"He's one of those people that you know will make it. It's a question of when rather than if.

"I think he's going to be a top player."
