Watford's on loan Manchester United goalkeeper, Ben Foster was pleased with his debut appearance in England's colours, despite the fact Steve McClaren's men fell to a disappointing one goal defeat to Spain last night.

Speaking to Sky Sports soon after the final whistle had sounded the 23-year-old said,

"It was my first appearance at Old Trafford and doing it for England is weird, but I am delighted to do it.

Foster then turned his thoughts to the all-important upcoming 2008 European Championship qualification games against Israel and Andorra, adding,

“Playing for Watford week in and week out I will get a bit of practice in the Premier League and I will just look forward to doing as well as I can and if the manager picks me then great,"

But I am not counting my chickens."
