Watford’s goal scoring exploits since the turn of the year has predictably attracted plenty of media attention for the front men, but Golden Boys’ manager, Aidy Boothroyd (pictured) has been quick to point out that Lloyd Doyley has also been performing to a very high standard,

"Lloyd's been fantastic this season.

"People will always talk about players like Ashley Young, Marlon King and Chris Eagles, but the guys at the back play a key role.

"Lloyd is an unsung hero."

Meanwhile, Wisconsin-born Jay DeMerit, although left out of the starting eleven at the weekend remains very much in the manager’s thoughts ahead of the clash with Reading this coming Saturday, a game which will be watched with interest by USA Coach, Bruce Arena.

"I left a message for Bruce and he got back to me, so I'm waiting to speak to him, but it's hard because of the time zones and how busy we are.

"We play at Reading on Saturday, and they have two Americans in their team.

"So if Jay keeps pushing and if I decide to put him back in the side, he will have every chance to impress there."
