Liverpool team news

Alexander-Arnold will be absent with a hamstring injury | Visionhaus/GettyImages

Trent Alexander-Arnold is targeting a return from his hamstring injury for the trip to face fellow title challengers Man City on April 10, with the issue forcing the full back to withdraw from the England squad for the latest round of internationals.

James Milner, meanwhile, is expected to return to the side after he missed the win over Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup prior to the international break, while Naby Keita is likely to be passed fit after pulling out of the Guinea squad with a knee problem.

Watford team news

Ismaila Sarr made his return to action for Senegal on international duty, with the winger having last featured for the Hornets in their goalless draw with Manchester United over a month ago.

Jeremy Ngakia is also likely to return from a hamstring problem, although Nicolas Nkoulou is a doubt.

Liverpool vs Watford score prediction

The Reds have been in irresistible form in the league since the turn of the year and they will have the opportunity to leapfrog City at the top of the table next weekend should they successfully navigate the visit of the Hornets.

Jurgen Klopp's side are likely to feel the pinch of Alexander-Arnold's absence, but their enviable array of attacking stars should be too much for a Watford side who have leaked 12 goals in their last five games.

Prediction: Liverpool 2-0 Watford
