No show: Norwich striker Holt was convicted for a driving offence
The former Shrewsbury forward denied a charge of failing to give the identity of the driver of a car allegedly caught speeding near Whitchurch, Shropshire, last year.
The 29-year-old was tried and convicted in his absence at Market Drayton Magistrates'Court, a spokeswoman for the court said.
Holt, who scored 24 goals last season in League One, was found guilty of failing to provide West Mercia Police with information relating to a Peugeot 307 in May 2009.
Magistrates had been asked to postpone the case in order to allow Holt to play 200 miles away in Championship newcomers Norwich's televised opening game of the season against Watford tonight, but rejected the request.
Holt, originally from Carlisle, will be sentenced at Shrewsbury Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
Nobody from Norwich was available to comment.
