"He's struggling to be ready," Hornets boss Ray Lewington told the club's official website.
"He's had a sore Achilles for a little while, but he got a whack on Saturday and that is what has brought the problem to a head.
"We'll take things very carefully with him this week and then leave a decision on whether he plays until much nearer the game."
