Marlon King has capped a fantastic first season with the Golden Boys by collecting the prestigious fans Player of the Year award at Sunday evening's end of season ceremony held at the Grove Hotel.

King, 26, has been in fantastic form throughout the campaign, netting 21 times to become the division's leading goal scorer and collected the Watford Observer sponsored award after votes cast by supporters and players.

The night's other accolades went to Al Bangura, as Young Player of the Year, Clarke Carlisle, who claimed the club's Ambassador of the Year award for his unstinting efforts with the Meridian Football Project and Chris Eagles, whose stunning strike from near the half way line at Brighton & Hove Albion in February was deemed as goal of the season.

There was also recognition for former Vicarage Road favourite, Tommy Mooney who was inducted into Watford's Hall of Fame.

The Team Performance of the Year was the 4-1 thrashing of Sheffield United at the beginning of February in which Eagles, King with a brace, and Hameur Bouazza all netted.
