Watford End A Credible Fifth In Win A Player Competition

With voting now complete in the season long Coca-Cola sponsored Win a Player Competition, the Golden Boys can reveal that Watford has finished in a credible fifth place with 78, 899 votes.

Long time leaders, Leeds United came home first with 219, 969 votes, while a concerted effort by Coca-Cola League One promotion chasers, Brentford in recent weeks elevated them into second position, just edging out Sheffield Wednesday who ended third.

Gillingham came fourth and the top placed Coca-Cola League Two club was Leyton Orient, who polled 72, 512 votes.

The winning three teams, one from each of three different divisions will be drawn from all the entries received.

As was the case last season the first prize is £250, 000 for one club's transfer fund, while one lucky supporter will receive a personal cheque for £10, 000.

As an added bonus this year, two further clubs, from different leagues, will each win £50, 000 for their transfer fund with £1, 000 available for the winning fans.

The three winning supporters will be invited onto Sky TV's Soocer Am show this coming Saturday morning where presenters, Tom Lovejoy and Helen Chamberlain will reveal the winning clubs live on air.
