Watford v West Brom

Last updated : 04 April 2010 By BBC Sport

West Brom defenders Jonas Olsson and Steven Reid both suffered hamstring strains against Leicester on Saturday and could miss out.

Abdoulaye Meite and Joe Mattock are set to deputise in a reshuffled defence.

MATCH PREVIEW

West Brom could secure their second promotion to the Premier League in three seasons with victory at relegation-threatened Watford, whose own recent spell in the top flight must feel a long time ago.

The Hornets were a Premier League side as recently as 2007, but a sorry sequence of one win in 11 games has left them in grave danger of dropping into the third tier for the first time in 12 years.

Manager Malky Mackay was pleased with the performance in Saturday's draw at Preston and has urged his players to show similar character on Monday, knowing defeat could put them in the bottom three.

For Mackay's opposite number, Roberto Di Matteo, it is a question of when, and not if, his season's goal is achieved. Albion's promotion will be confirmed if they win and third-placed Nottingham Forest fail to beat Cardiff.
