An own goal and a late strike from loan signing Chris Eagles secured the much needed three points for the Hornets but they had to fight hard for victory against a Gills side who really dominated in thwe second half.

"We were under the cosh and it's the first time we have come off for a long time feeling we've had a bit of luck.

"We've come off plenty of times feeling we deserved more, so it makes a change.

"We dug in when we weren't playing well. We played some good football in the first-half, but Gillingham came at us after the break."
